Dianne and Friends Inc. was founded in 2020 by Dianne Jennings—also
known as Kat Perkins—as a conduit for community care and collective
support. Her mission deepened in 2023 when she was diagnosed with
breast cancer, a moment that revealed the profound emotional and
physical challenges women face with this disease. At the very same time,
her husband was undergoing treatment for prostate cancer, and together
they walked a path that reshaped their understanding of strength. As
Dianne often says, “We are not survivors — we are conquerors.”
Long before her own diagnosis, Dianne had been advocating for young
adults with developmental disabilities, inspired by her son Matthew, who
was born with Down syndrome. Navigating systems to ensure his life was
honorable, healthy, and wholesome shaped her commitment to inclusion,
dignity, and community support.
Cancer brought a new layer of purpose. The extraordinary care she
received, combined with witnessing the trauma and resilience of other
women and men in treatment, made it clear that she was called to uplift
them and walk with them — different stories, yet the same shoes. Her
mission was further shaped by the cancer diagnoses of her husband, three
brothers, her mother, and her father, all of whom battled various forms of
the disease. Silence was no longer an option.
In Georgia alone, more than 365,000 women are battling breast cancer.
Nationally, prostate cancer remains one of the most commonly diagnosed
cancers among men, and over 55,000 men are diagnosed with colon
cancer each year. These numbers continue to rise, with projections
showing a 10–20% annual increase if current trends persist.
In response, Dianne launched the Warm Feet, Warm Hearts Initiative in
October 2025, offering the gift of resilience through compression socks
that honor strength and courage, along with words of inspiration from her
book Girls with Pearls Have Power: Cultivating Hope, Fueling
Perseverance, Celebrating Resilience. As she often says, “Every sock tells
a story, every pearl covered in prayer has power, and every woman and
man deserves to feel a love that whispers, one breath at a time, you are
not alone.”
Dianne is now on a mission to raise $1.8 million by the end of 2027 to
expand comfort initiatives, increase access to support, and ensure that no
family facing cancer or disability walks alone. Her life’s work is rooted in
dignity, compassion, and the unwavering belief that community can
transform the journey.
